I was out there yesterday. The kids were great, well-behaved and having a lot of fun. Place was packed. I don’t understand why the RR officials aren’t pleased as punch with this park and the kids attitude towards it. I heard the kids spent 3 hours clearing the trail to the gate after it rained the other day. I can’t imagine another public parks project that has gotten more use for the buck.

it isn’t going to happen because it is going to be a park that is actually going to get used and they don’t want to have to go empty the trash cans daily.

I heard they were going to open the park only twice a year, Xmas and Spring Break. That way it’ll keep the litter down.

I bring my crew most every morning 7-10am
(when it isn’t raining) for our daily session, along with a couple random neighborhood kids. We have made several new friends which is what the park is all about in the first place (haven’t met drunk cigarette guy yet) But,when we get there the trash cans are crammed full so we just haul out what we bring in. Scooping off the water that ponds in the with a plastic dust pan and a crappy garage towel has also become a routine and necessity. I think a water fountain combined with one of those misting water showers would cut into the heat factor and therefore trash production and how about a large recycling container next to a concrete sidewalk into the park while I’m asking.

young people gather there, and we all know what happens when young people gather. Hell, i once drink gasoline from a dixie cup, just to impress my peers!
