Anti-Weekend Wrapup

The Real vs. Antihero demo at the Skatepark of Austin was a major blowout event. The huge crowd was treated to skating beyond anything witnessed in recent memory at SPoA. I actually didn’t see what was going on in the street area due to the standing-room only spectator area. I spent the entire time sitting by the bowl watching Frank Gerwer, Max Schaff, Dennis Busenitz, Tony Trujillo, Julien Stranger, Rene Beres, and Chaz Pineda performing all manner of stunts.
Chaz said he turned 17 and quit Black Label, so he’s currently looking for a board sponsor. The kid is definitely pro material: 20-ft stand-up grinds in the deep end to revert.
My camera is still in the shop, but I shot some video footage and have editied it into this 25mb download that’s hosted on a super-fast server. Check it out.

seth, i’ve tried to view this video 5 times, and it gives me an error message that totally shuts down explorer every time. it’s a real pain in the ass. i think i’m gonna have to link a buncha photos from your site to my myspace page just to make myself feel better…

Yeah, I had it crash my own browser (firefox) at work, too. Three suggestions here–
1. The quicktime version linked above is very good resolution. You can get it to play for sure by copying the link and then opening the quicktime player and choosing file > open URL and pasting the address in there. http://www.devsps.org/antiDemo.mov
2. Failing that, you can see the video on youtube.com. It’s lower res and it’s hard to make out facial expressions, etc. But it does work– http://youtube.com/watch?v=O3Mw4TRb_u0
3. Come to Blue Tile Lounge wednesday night at Beerland. I’ll show it there.
