Colby Carter’s (ex-World Industries pro) skatepark design firm, Site Design, is going to meet with Irving, Texas, skaters on February 23rd to further refine the design for that city’s skatepark. Courtesy of the guys at Fourduos.com, here are some links to the PDF of the preliminary design they’ll be introducing at the meeting.
James Juneau called me this evening. He’s healing up pretty well from his surgery last month. Walks around fine, but it’ll be several months before he’s taking charge at Mabel Davis. He had a dispute with a customer over a several hundred dollar debt that hadn’t been paid off in over a year, but it seems to be getting resolved.
Here’s a kick-ass video of a guy named Richie Jackson street skating. You gotta give props to anyone willing to cannonball off any number of steps. I’m really liking this whole youtube.com deal. It needs to get better in terms of being able to dodge the utter crap clips people post, but in time I think it will.
In case you didn’t see messages conveyed on other sites or in Sean’s comment on ASN, Harold Hunter was found dead over the weekend in his New York apartment. The skateboard pro / actor was 31.

Hey! Heads up, the next Blue Tile Lounge (Beerland’s Old Man night) is going to be on March 8th. Apparently there are going to be two Japanese punk bands playing (also skaters I think). Should be a good time. Maybe you will win another deck, Seth. Or maybe we will have someone other than Kerry Jackon do the drawing…

It took me a while to figure out why there was a frog-mechanic on today’s posting, but now I get it; sharp as a friggin’ tack.
James, be sure to write off the lost money in your taxes. Stuff like that counts, doesn’t it? Best.
All of the plans for the Irving park look amazing. Any idea which they’re going to choose? The only down side is that they are all in Irving (complain, do nothing about it, complain, sit on my butt, complain, whine). Good for Irving.

money is a trivial aspect of life. the human mind simply can’t rationalize the idea of labor broken down into little units of bartering/trade. i’ve had $1000 stolen straight from under my nose at my own house(while i was being a good host), i’ve had my camera stolen from my own new year’s eve party(this year), someone still owes me $200 from a car i sold them, and not to mention the countless times someone hasn’t paid me back. these are all LIFE lessons and shouldn’t affect the bond people have. if someone crosses the line, different story. the main idea is that life is what you make it, what you focus on, what YOU do. don’t make it out to be a who’s right-who’s wrong issue. just live for you…

how’s it feel to have a gossip column now. maybe you should write an article about all the times every skater in austin has been ripped off by another skater. you’ll have tons of material.you can rename your web site austin skate debts.

James just keep the knee moving and ice it down at the end of the day. You’ll be good to go this summer.

I had my knee scoped over 2-years ago and am still working out the kinks. In all optimism, knee injuries, while they really suck, are still possible to skate on.
