Hondo Skate Park
Folks are organizing in New Braunfels to lobby and fund raise for a public skatepark in the same community boasting the world’s largest water park. Sorry for the late notice, but today at 5:30pm is an organizational meeting for this group calling itself JAWS. Carter has more details on the sk8sa.org site.

Work has basically finished in Hondo on the public skatepark Doug King and friends have been building. Here are some photos of it. To get there, take Highway 90 west from San Antonio through Castroville to Hondo, then turn right on U Street. Take your first right after the railroad tracks and it’s pretty much there. You can see it from 90 on the right side of the highway. I don’t think it’s open for public skating yet, but probably within the next two weeks.

Dave Reynolds has accomplished a lot on the street park he’s building in Tyler. Doug and some others are heading up there at the beginning of next week to help out. Carter Dennis has some photos on the Sk8sa.org site of the progress.
