Henry Rollins apparently pulled out of ACL early (in some circles this is referred to as ‘the pullout method’) in favor of performing independent of the Zilker park mega-fest. Though he was never confirmed on any official ACL lineups, he will perform at an un-official after-party at the Chuggin’ Monkey according to this flyer. Also in store for Hank fans are other Austin appearances throughout the weekend.
Ken Fillian and Troy Chasen showed up at the Round Rock skatepark the other night. Speaking of ACL, that’s the surgical procedure Ken will spend the next six months recovering from.
No Comply skate shop gets some deserved props in the current issue of the Skateboard Mag. Oh, and there are some cool photos of Ben Schroeder skating at the Block Uplands replica.

I went to the Rollins appearance last night at the Chugging Monkey but because the venue is so small and Rollins appeal is so widespread, it made for getting some real face time with living legend next to impossible. I stayed around for probably 30 minutes sipping on vodka/pineapples before i called it a night and gave up on meeting Rollins face to face. However, on my way out I heard Rollins anounce to the crowd that he would be exercising on the hike and bike trail for most of the morning before his scheduled visits to Hot Topic and Blockbuster, and that any and all his fans were encouraged to join him in his “personal battle against body fat.” Yes, he really said that.

ACL blowouts suck, so does acl surgery.
