Trick or treat!

Alright. It’s going to be treats today, kids. The only trick is the costume ASN is wearing today.
For starters, James sent me these two videos of his expedition to the Cayman Islands. The first clip is James taking a short run in one of the cradles. This other one is of Kevin Trayhan feeding some tarpon. Some members of the team found plane tickets for $300 round trip… And, while I’m throwing up these YouTube links, here’s a fun clip I shot of lil’ moot liberating his own bicycle from a kryptonite lock.

Carjack and John Glaze are in Dallas disassembling ramps used for a pro street and vert contest at Reunion Arena over the weekend. Cary said the vert contest was filled with the top riders, including such notables as Mike Crum and Chris Gentry, competing for $30,000 as a first place prize. Apparently, Tas Pappas recovered from some injury and came out of nowhere to snatch first with Sandro Diaz in second and Bucky Lasek in third. Tony Hawk and Matt Hoffman demoed.

I find it fascinating, even with vert skating “dead”, a $30,000 first place prize is probably 10x greater than any first place prize back the 80’s when vert skating ruled.

yeah, how “dead” is vert skating with places like Black Pearl? I would draw that on my books in class back in the day. I’m fixin’ to get up over there and never come back.
