First Watigny Fundraiser this Friday

The Broken Neck Ramp broke Dave Watigny’s spleen, and this Friday it has the opportunity to make amends by hosting a fundraising event planned to help defray his overwhelming medical debt stemming from the injury. Last I checked, it has exceeded $70,000.
On the roster for this Friday:
7:00 art auction
9:00 Video Premiere- Pray For Me: Jason Jessee
This is the first public screening of the Jason Jessee documentary in Austin. It’s a very interesting glimpse into the life of an colorful character. Many questions are answered. Many more are begging to be asked. Here’s the trailer. And here’s an odd follow-up interview with Jessee where he complains about a falling-out he’s had with the guy who made Pray for Me.

Patterson Park Mini Ramp is currently on lock-down in order to provide an opportunity for the grass to grow on the dirt berms and other disturbed areas. It’s doing well in spite of the heat. Trespassing on the site doesn’t help get the ramp opened any faster and in fact creates a real problem for the volunteers working to get the project completed and turned over to the city.

I found a sweet handrail that everyone needs to know about. It is located in the Triangle between Lamar & Guadulpe. There is an Office Depot, the handrail is across the parking lot from it between the building that faces the Office Depot and the parking garage. it is only about 2.5 – 2 feet of the ground, it is square bar and has a nice smooth angle all the way down. If you skate it, shoot some pics and add the link here.

dude, it’s not cool to advertise a spot. if you like it so much, why do you wanna ruin it by blowing it out? loose lips sink ships; shut up and skate.

When is the Paterson park gonna be ready skate?
September 9th, 2008 at 10:48 pm
as soon as you are able to type the question correctly…
September 10th, 2008 at 6:32 pm
but I was already able… just didn’t, see? does that mean it’s ready?!
September 11th, 2008 at 8:34 am
since when are skaters supposed to be able to spell?
September 11th, 2008 at 1:14 pm
Lionz are you drunk? wtf did you say?
September 11th, 2008 at 2:24 pm
sure, it means it could be ready, it just isn’t, see? why are you so worried about it now, but didn’t bother to help when we were actually building it? when you drive by and the fence is no longer there, you’ll know it’s ready.
and rub, it’s an idiot move to sell skaters short. expect stupid and you get stupid. learning to speak your own native language properly shouldn’t be a monumental task, even for the myspace generation. it’s not like i’m asking you to do something that takes actual effort, like say, build a ramp…

proper grammar and stupidity are two different things. don’t get them confused.
and i just get pissed when someone posts something about the topic, and then someone else calls them out for a spelling or grammar mistake. just stay on topic and stop being a f’n 3′rd grade english teacher.

are you kidding me? you’re the one who hijacked this thread about my friend’s benefit to defray his medical expenses, and posted a comment about a HANDRAIL you want people to skate and post photos for you. and then posted another comment about a skate contest in another city! and then, when said friend called you out for taking attention away from his medical benefit, you didn’t apologize; you stuck to your narrow viewpoint.
you wanna know what pisses me off? when people who refuse to help build something whine and nag about when it’s going to be finished, and are first in line to skate it. even if you have zero building skills, you could at least come by, talk to the crew, see if they need help with anything, maybe bring drinks out. or stay away, that’s fine, but keep your mouth shut. so if i call someone out for their sub-third grade english skills, take that as my attempt at humor to lighten the situation, so i don’t go off and call someone an ASSHOLE on this board, when i don’t even know them.
