A couple weeks ago I received a copy of the soon-to-be-distributed Grindline video. Subscribers of the Skateboard Mag should receive a copy of this excellent video with the next issue. Most of the DVD is comprised of contributed footage, which makes for a fun package. There are pros as well as hometown killers all ripping skateparks designed by Grindline. I say ‘designed’ rather than ‘built’ because two of their best street parks in the video (Austin’s Mabel Davis and South Jordan, UT) were subbed out to general contractors for construction, which is neither here nor there.

To date, this video probably contains more concrete skateparks than any other single DVD. As such, it’s difficult to watch without reaching for the atlas to find out how many miles it is from Austin to say, Shawnee, Ks. Even without the excellent skating, just seeing all the different skateparks makes this a compelling video, and a brilliant marketing piece for Grindline.

Here are two samples of the Grindline video available on YouTube:

And here’s a cool clip of Austin’s Ryan Holloway on YouTube.

Heading into the weekend, it looks like the temperature is cooling off for a mild Memorial Day. Burkle and Hubba are heading up this afternoon and we’ve got a session booked for Mabel Davis this evening. Travis reports that Ingleside has resolved its budget confusion and reopned its public skatepark with extended hours. I asked him if he knew who Mike Crum is riding for since World Industries decided to ditch its entire pro team in favor of the Wet Willy and Flameboy representatives. Unfortunately, he didn’t know.
